30 days 'til election - Family Time Christmas Eve

I got to spend the whole day with my wife, her mom and brother as well as my dad, stepmom and little sister. We were so lucky to be able to convince them all to come all the way west from the prairies and spend some time with us.

Days like this with family remind me why it is so important for Canadian families to be supported. The love and laughter you get from your family outweighs any material possesion or toy you can ever have. It is so easy to take the people closest to you for granted, so it's good to have Christmas every year where we can all slow down a bit and thank our loved ones for being there for us.

Now for something completely different:

Tonight as we were playing the name game, there was an argument over whether fictional characters can really be considered famous people? What do you think, is Tom Sawyer just as relevant as Catherine the Great when we talk about famous people?

The Green Party sounds interesting and intriquing BUT . . . how will your party ever really be a force to reckon with?

Why would I waste my vote on the Green Party? Give me a good reason.

I have a strong belief in the Green Party and what its stands for. However, I would like to see more information regarding their positions on economic and social spending policy. As the Green Party has never had the opportunity to manage this grand country I believe it is imperative that it demonstrate clear policy and strategy. This detail would provide the public with more information and confidence in voting for the Green Party. The Green Party participating in the televised debate would be a plus. I don't understand how a federal party such as the bloc which is solely based in one province gets to participate in the debate while the Green party which has national representation does not get to participate in the televised debate.
